It's been a year since the SHIRE first set foot on the Hundred Acre Wood. Armed with nothing more than a sense of purpose and truck, we've been able to carve a niche in Austin's vibrant ecological community. We've worked with schools installing rainwater, hosted dozens of volunteer days and workshops, been behind the scenes in many major festivals, and continue to root ourselves as a hub of learning and entertainment. All done with minimal funding and gargantuan effort.
We've done so much with so little, it's time to see what we can do with a little bit more.
We're proud to roll out a new and improved DONATIONS section! Our coffers are looking a little dusty. That hasn't stopped us before, but we've launched several new projects, including our trip to DC, and a rainwater catchment system on our local Montessori school. We need your help to make these things happen!!
Not everyone can come out on Saturdays to volunteer, or support us at festivals, or the Hope Farmer's market on Sundays. You're in Kansas or California or Pennsylvania and you've been watching us, you're excited to see us at the Rally, but you still want more. More SHIRE! Great! There are two ways you can donate to us from abroad.
The first is a simple monetary donation. Give us your moneys. This money goes directly to project funds, like getting us to DC, or installing a rainwater catchment systems. These projects take money, and since our budget is entirely personal and in-kind donations, we need everything you can give us.
The second is material donation. You can either donate the good in question directly, or give us money that goes directly toward the tool of your choosing. We need shovels, pickaxes, rainwater barrels, tractors, seeds, you name it.
All these donations are tax-deductible. You will get a receipt of confirmation, plus a personal thank you email.
Thank you, for everything you've done, and everything you continue to do to help us on our path to sustainable infrastructure! Last update: October 14, 2010 07:40 am
